Dr Jutta Tobias
Mindfulness expert and consultant
Senior Lecturer at Cranfield School of Management
Jutta is a social psychologist with 20 years of work experience in organisational development and capacity-building in six countries on three continents.
Jutta researches and teaches performance management, leadership development, and mindfulness to executive students and through open and in-company programmes. In recent years she has introduced thousands of senior managers to mindfulness. Each year she trains over 300 senior government officials in mindful leadership, as part of a high profile leadership development programme sponsored by the UK Cabinet Office.
Jutta's current research focus is on establishing a scientific evidence base for linking mindfulness-based interventions with organisational transformation. Since 2015 she has co-directed a funded multi-phase research programme exploring the effect of context-sensitive mindfulness interventions with strategic change-readiness.
Jutta regularly presents and consults on mindfulness at work, e.g. in the UK House of Commons, the Department of Health, and with numerous private sector organisations.
She also contributed to the "Mindful Nation UK" report, a policy recommendation document released with bipartisan sponsorship in October 2015 in the UK Parliament, and serves as expert advisor to The Mindfulness Initiative, a UK think tank.
Before obtaining her doctorate, Jutta worked for nearly a decade for Arthur Andersen and other consultancies, advising clients such as Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, Nomura and Aon Corporation on their strategy implementation.
Jutta's work has been featured widely, including in top tier academic publications, as well as in the Financial Times, The Sunday Times, the Huffington Post, on the BBC World Service and in the TV documentary "The Mindful Revolution".
Jutta connects seamlessly with her clients in English, German and French.
